If you want to remarry abroad or prove your marital status, the authority often asks for a divorce certificate with an apostille. Formally this is a copy of the marriage certificate carrying the later divorce annotation. You request that copy from the municipality where the marriage took place and send it to us; we arrange the apostille at the court and return the document.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I request the divorce certificate?
From the municipality where the marriage took place. You request a copy of the marriage certificate with the later divorce annotation; it costs around €17.80.
Is this the same as the divorce decree?
No. The divorce decree is the court's decision; it can only be apostilled at the court that issued it. For that, use our product Court judgment or court order with apostille.
Can I send a copy or a scan?
No. The court only apostilles the paper copy with the municipality's original signature. A photocopy or digital scan will be refused.
How recent does the copy need to be?
The foreign recipient decides. Many authorities ask for a recent copy, so request it shortly before you need it.
