What makes BeedigdeVertalingOnline.nl legally reliable?
We work only with translators entered in the Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv). Our company registration is verifiable through the Chamber of Commerce under KvK number 14093828, and our translators' Rbtv status is publicly searchable through Bureau Wbtv.
We were founded in 2006 as part of Ecrivus International. The Rbtv translators in our network are sworn before a Dutch court and bound by the Bureau Wbtv code of conduct and the duty of confidentiality in article 32 of the Wbtv act.

Which authorities accept our translations?
Our sworn translations are valid with every Dutch government body (the IND, gemeenten, courts, Nuffic, universities, notaries) and, combined with an apostille or consular legalisation, with authorities in the countries party to the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961.
The legal basis for acceptance in the Netherlands is article 28 of the Sworn Interpreters and Translators Act (Wbtv). For use abroad, you can order the translation together with an apostille in a single order. An apostille is €99 per document.

How many sworn translators work in the Netherlands?
The Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv) holds several thousand registered interpreters and translators. The exact number shifts each quarter as new entries, renewals and removals are processed. Bureau Wbtv publishes the public register, so every entry can be checked independently.
Entry in the Rbtv requires assessed competencies at B2/C1 level, a certificate of good conduct, and periodic further training. All of our translators are Rbtv registered and can be checked by name in the public register.

Our story
We started nearly twenty years ago with one aim: to make sworn translations straightforward for anyone who needs a document an official body will recognise. What began as a small office at Maastricht Airport has grown into a team that handles translations every working day for individuals, small businesses and large organisations.
We have since completed more than 100.000+ translations for over 50.000+ satisfied clients, across 64 languages and 176 language combinations. That track record is why Dutch authorities accept our work without question.
Everything runs online. You upload your document, we translate and certify it, and you receive a legally recognised translation with the official stamp and our acceptance guarantee, usually within five to seven working days and sooner with express.
Even though the process is digital, we keep it personal. You can reach a real person during office hours, and on working days we reply within the hour.

What makes a sworn translation legally valid?
A sworn translation is legally valid when it is made by a translator entered in the Rbtv and sworn before a court. The translator confirms its accuracy with an official stamp and signature, which is what the Dutch and international authorities recognise.
Rbtv registration
The Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv) is the official register kept by Bureau Wbtv, part of the Raad voor Rechtsbijstand. Only translators who meet strict quality requirements are entered.
What this means for you: Your translation is made by a qualified translator recognised by the government, the standard the Dutch authorities ask for.
Sworn before a court
Our translators have taken the oath before a district court, declaring that they carry out their work faithfully. That oath makes each translator personally liable for the accuracy of the translation.
What this means for you: Your translation carries the translator's personal guarantee, which is what makes it legally binding and valid.
Recognised by 200+ authorities
Our sworn translations are accepted by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), every Dutch gemeente, courts, universities, DUO, UWV and hundreds of international authorities.
What this means for you: You do not have to worry about acceptance. We guarantee your translation is accepted by the body that asked for it.
Bureau Wbtv: independent oversight
Bureau Wbtv, part of the Raad voor Rechtsbijstand, oversees the quality of sworn translators in the Netherlands. It sets requirements for training, experience and ongoing education.
What this means for you: An independent body watches over the quality of our translators, which gives you added protection.

Frequently asked questions
Below are answers to the questions we hear most about sworn translations, the Rbtv, the legal validity of our work and how to order.
Who is behind BeedigdeVertalingOnline.nl?
We are an online sworn translation service based at Maastricht Airport and part of Ecrivus International, working in this field since 2006. We arrange translations that Dutch authorities accept, produced by translators registered in the Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators (Rbtv) for the language pair you need.
Are your translators officially registered?
Yes. Every sworn translation is produced by a translator entered in the Rbtv, which Bureau Wbtv keeps on behalf of the Ministry of Justice and Security. The translator has taken the oath before a Dutch district court, and that registration is what gives the translation legal validity for the IND, a gemeente, or a court.
What does your acceptance guarantee mean?
It means the translation is accepted by the requesting Dutch authorities. Because we work only with Rbtv-registered translators, the work meets the requirement of the body that asked for it. If an authority rejects a translation we produced on quality grounds, we correct it free of charge until it is accepted.
How many translations have you delivered?
We have delivered over 100,000 translations since 2006, for individuals handling residence and naturalisation matters and for organisations that need their documents in order. That experience is why we can usually tell you in advance how a particular Dutch authority wants a document presented.
Which languages do you cover?
Dutch ↔ English and Dutch ↔ French are our most-requested pairs, and we cover more than sixty other languages. We translate in both directions, so we can render a foreign document into Dutch for use here, or a Dutch document into another language for use abroad.
Where do I go for a sworn translation?
Order your sworn translation online through our website, or reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp. Our average response time is within 1 hour on working days.
